Both my friend and I are trying to use Skype Video with unsat results. The video from him is a bit jumpy. My video to him sometimes stands still. The audio from me has static. The audio from him is jumpy and garbled.
We both are using the native Mo sound and video on our Mo. His computer is an Emachine and that's all I know about it. My computer is a "no-name" that has a ASUS MO Mdl. M2N-VM-DVI. I am somewhat computer literate and he is not,
I suspect lack of memory available to the audio and video is causing these problems. Might the installation of a video.audio card help? Any recommendations. My computer only has one PCI slot available..

Another question. To improve the quality of video and sound should the receiving computer be the one treated or is there a need to enhance the transmission of audio and video bring transmitted. Neither of us are looking to have concert sound or great video. Just adequate so we can communicate without sound or video being degraded.

My 'suspicion' would be a problem in the Skype network and not a problem at either end. But I know nothing about Skype.

Have been looking at internet band width. The results are all over the place, from 390 KB to 1100 KB I don't know what the heck to believe. Anybody know what am acceptable reading is for in and out?
What is a good tester?
