Ok, my sound skips randomly (forward a couple seconds, completely random, especially obvious on MP3). I just bought a new computer, and I put in an Audigy 2, I have a GeForce 4, integrated network card. USB mouse, regular keyboard. In my bios it says that my soundcard is sharing an IRQ with 'serial bus', and in windows it says it is sharing it with USB, even when I disable the USB port that shares the IRQ it still skips, this shouldn't happen on a brand new computer, please help.

is ur sound card too close to other expansion cards?? your sound card might be picking up static and casues it to act weired.. to solve this problem, you should try to move your sound card away from other expansion cards if possible.

I have moved it so many times, it gets better, but never fixes.

hey i got a similar problem, i've got a soundblaster live, on a pentium 866with 384 ram, my soundcard makes a very high screeching sound . BUt this happens only when i'm processing in the background. The problem started quite some time ago , i installed the XP compatible driver for it, but the problem remains. I can listen to mp3's quite nicely, but once i strt surfing, or word processing the screeching sound comes back on,...HELP..
