MPU-401 Compatible MIDI and Standard Game Port both have a yellow exlaimation point. Uninstalled and reinstalled, still same. "Device status: This device is disabled because the firmware of the device did not give it the required resources."

Just a recover disk came with so not helpful for drivers. How do I get the sound working?

Andrena - you will need to find out what you are trying to use for sound and game port. Sound Blaster, integrated on-board or what? The you can go get the proper drivers off the internet.

Rule #1 Good computers don't go down.
Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.

It is onboard sound. From there I don't know what I need to search on for drivers??? I tried a scan on HP's site (Pavilion 7850) it didn't have any sound drivers for download.

I had a look, HP don't list audio drivers on their site for XP. This may be because XP has native support for the device.

Try removing all the sound devices and rebooting.

I believe it is a CRYSTAL SOUND driver, you need to run a hardware utility like EVEREST to identify:

If you can not find XP Drivers Windows 2000 will suffice. If it is CYSTAL SOUND drivers amy be listed here for Windows 2000:
