Sound not working correctly

I noticed my sound wasn't working after a few minutes of being on the computer, it just makes a windows error noise for any sound. I went to control panel and checked the sound devices and it says that my SoundMAX Integrated digital audio is not working properly, (code 10) and troubleshoot was no help, can someone please help me? I would be very appreciative.

Try this:
Right click on My Computer, then click Properties...click the Hardware tab, then Device Manager. See if there's an exclamation point under "Sound, video & game controllers". If there is, right click on it, & try clicking "Scan for hardware changes".
See if that does anything.
