for some reason the onboard sound on my 845GEBV2 Intel motherboard is disabled, when I try to install the accompanied audio drivers, they say that sound is disabled in the bios, this model has on-board sound, it was working about a week ago, there is no option the bios to enable or disable sound.

Uhhh... when you boot up your comp enter bios and you should have some options such as "fail proof settings", "optimal performance" or something similar... set it to fail proof... if that works try it with another option afterwards... if none of the options enable your sound you'll have to format and set the bios on failproof from the beginnning... good luck
