Ok i have a Hewlett Packard pavilion 4440 I fixed for some1 had to reinstall OS........ Sound doesnt work cant find the sound drivers/mobo drivers ive tried a few from driverguide.com but just cant find the right ones the sound card is rockwell riptide combo card.

What chip is on the card? I have a huge 22 meg file that says it's for the riptide card with the D7400-12 chip. I don't know where I got it. I'd have to upload it somewhere if that's the one. I'll check back tomorrow.

Yeah all they give me are keyboard drivers, floppy disk, cdrom, and IE drivers.

This indicates rip417na.exe is the file for that card. Hp is probably saving a whopping 2 cents by not crowding their site with that file. It's available at a few places. Here's one:

You can still use drivers and all for user and password or create your own account.
