I find it hard to believe but someone actually created their own driver for AC97 A driver?
What you actually need is motherboard chipset drivers. For example if you board is intel, visit the site; locate your board model (eg 815ee) and download the inf driver file. If you have onboard sound you may find the sound driver there as well. If you have a Compaq HP Dell (or other name brand) try their site first, may well find all you need there.
