When i bought my pcs, vendor told me since intel 810 motherboard has inbuild AGP so i don't need sound cards.

When i use head phones on these both pcs the voulme comes out to be very low, How can i fix that/? I'm sure the head phone is fine i have tried it on another friends pc, even tried another head phone but same result.

if i install an additional sound card, will that fix it? Is there any sound booster out?

AGP has nothing to do with sound. That's for your graphics card. If you are getting some sound chances are that your system volume is set low. Hit the start button, then go into accessories, then go into entertainment and click on the volume control. put in a cd and play a track then adjust the sliders to the appropriate volume. You can also drag the volume control icon down into your task bar (lower right next to the clock)for instant gratification

What does a AGP has to do with the onboard sound, anyway you can adjust the volume in Volume Control.

Start >> Setting >> Control Panel >> Sound and audio devices

Hope this help

Do you know for sure what the sound card has for outputs?

Some hav speaker outputs AND line outputs, you might make sure you are plugged to the correct jack.

If yours only has a line out, it just might not have enough soup to drive headphones--some take a lot more energy than others.

After you research all the above, you CAN buy amplified speakers.

Here's some more info in case the above excellent suggestions do not work.
Some sound adapters are designed with amplifiers, so you can feed speakers/headphones directly. Others do not have amplifiers and a you need powered speakers or an external amplifier for headphones.

You don't need to do all that to just to adjust the volume! Just double-click the little speaker icon in the taskbar and boom! You're there.

You can buy speakers (At Walmart for about 12 bucks) with a headphone jack built in. They will amplify the sound.
