sound card there but computer there

a few days ago, i was deleting old drivers and i think i got rid of the wrong one because i rebooted the pc and the intigrated sound card stopped working. so i downloaded driver genious to get the driver, i installed it but it still does not work. no sound on speakers. only sound are beeps.

it is probably very easy to get the driver, the harder part is knowing the make/model of the soundchip, which you need to get the right driver. If it was me I would open the case and look for the sound chip which will have make/model on it. It is usually a small square about 5-10mm wide and between the back edge of the motherboard and the back ends of the PCI slots - but size/shape/position can vary. If you use google images searching for SOUND CHIP it will show some pics to give you an idea of what you are looking for.

You could try the 2K driver. It may work. Or, the chipset if the card is integrated.

Summary: I assuming you haven't changed any connections to the card, and haven't added any devices such as another card since the sound last worked. You could try removing the power to your case, opening it up...
