Here Goes:
I've had a sound blaster live sound card for the past year or so and it has worked great, but two days ago I tried to upgrade to service pack 2 for windows xp. In the middle of the instalation i got a blue screen and my computer restarted. When everything came back up it was all screwed up, and my sound didn't work. I got all of my other problems straightened out but the sound wouldn't work. I then tried unistalling and reistalling the original drivers but that did not work, so I tried taking the card out getting rid of all of the sound drivers and reinstalled the card. I then reinstalled the drivers and upgraded them, but the sound still does not work. I looked under the device manager to see if my card was recognized and it is, but when I opened the sounds and audio devices in the control panel it said there was no sound device. but it was under the hardware tab. I tried doing everything I had already done again with the same results. THis is driving me crazy because I cant think of anything else to do and cant find a solution in the computers help files or on the internet, please help or I will go out and shoot my computer.
