sound and video skip when under stress

Specs: Windows 7, Phenom II x4 965/ 8gb
sound and video skip when under stress from BFBC2 or youtube. The skips are usually less than a second and can span anywhere from a couple of seconds to a couple minutes apart and only do it when stressed from video. I'm running a PC built by myself that is 4 months old. Windows 7, AMD phenom II x4 965, Gigabyte mobo GA-870A-UD3, 8 gb DDR3 Kingston Hyperx blu running at 1600 9-9-9-27. In addition, Radeon HD 5830 GPU, a 1TB samsung (I believe) HD, stock on board sound card, and adequate fans. I'm not sure if my GPU drivers need updated. Any educated input would be helpful. It gets quite annoying at times. If more info is needed, let me know. Thanks

I think yer machine is TOO FAST for that game! (haha). I'd post this Under PC Gaming.

Is it doing this with standalone play or online? How fast is your Internet Connection? using wired or wireless?

I'm not a die hard gamer, more of a dabbler, my suggestions may only be fluff but:

- Internet connection or lag issues?
- Power supply? Assuming you have a decent one in there?
- Check/double check game audio/video settings, per EAs recommendations.
- Check if there are any patches/updates for the game.
- Make sure your Win7 system is all kosher (defrag'd, patched etc).
- Check your Samsung HDD with their drive tester (HUTIL). I know it's new, but you never know, I see NEW HDDs w/ drive surface/electronics issues sometimes.
- Check if there are firmware updates for your HDD.
- Do you need to turn off yer Anti-Virus/3rd party Firewalls when you play?
- Yes, updated video drivers may help.
- "stock on board sound card" raised my eyebrows a bit.

Just another stupid saying...

Excellent questions.

I discovered that the problem occurs online and off. It seems to occur when playing video. I have a wired internet connection with decent speeds (Don't know the dl ul rates off hand). Power supply is a corsair 650W. I have lowered the resolution during gameplay within BFBC2 and the problem still occurs. Windows 7 should be kosher according to what you stated. I have yet to turn off my anti virus (Kaspersky) when I play online or view videos online. I think it may need updated video drivers so I will search for those. In the meantime, let me know if you think of anything else. I appreciate it. thanks
