Comment:

Hi, I've downloaded the video adaptor update for this PC right from the sony site and it says it installs, but when it asks to reboot to finalize the installation it is not loaded. I don't have the restoration discs for this PC, I'm just using a fresh XP installation. Any ideas on how to get this update to register as all I can get is 800X600, and that's pretty big graphics for a 19" led screen
Thanks

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

because when I try to change my resolution to another setting, my led screen goes blank (to sleep), then it comes back on and the new adjustment is gone, and it's back to 800X600

So you don't know that the new driver didn't get installed? It might be that the new driver didn't help the situation?

there is no physical way to change the settings, so I presume that it didn't install, anyone else have any ideas?

Well, as luck has it, I got the recovery discs from the person I got the Sony from and all is installed properly now.

I'm just stumped to as why with a fresh XP installation I couldn't get the sony drivers to work. Actually, that was the only one that didn't work, the video driver.
Thanks everyone for your input.

"there is no physical way to change the settings"

I think it would have helped if you had mentioned that earlier.
