If somebody could help me out with this it would be great. I have a sony vaio model number pcv-rx550. The power supply is shot, it needs to be replaced. When i took it out I realised that it wasn't a standard atx power supply. It's a little bit smaller, and the power plug is on the smaller side of the box. How can I go about finding out what type of power supply this needs to be replaced with? It it an sfx? I need to be sure before i order one. Ive tried sonys support but they are idiots and dont have a clue about whats going on. So I turn to the forum. Let me know if you have any idea. Thanks Dave

My other option would be to get a new case and power supply and put everything into it. The other parts in the computer look pretty compatiable, can I just swap everything into a different case?
Summary: hi i have a sony vaio pcv-rx860 does anyone know what kind of power supply it has? and also i found a cheap refurbished asus 9550 video card on newegg. here's the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/...
Summary: Does you Sony Vaio power supply have a fan on the bottom that connects to an air guide over the cpu and the cpu has no fan? If so you will have to get a similar type power supply. Or you will have to...
