Sony Vaio Blank screen

Specs: Windows XP
I had this SONY Vaio for few years and it was going on well. Last week all of a sudden when I tried to boot the system, It showed some 'BLUE SCREEN' with the message which I couldn't read as it restarted quickly. I happened a few times, before it died completely.

When it was rebooting itself, I managed to go in safe mode once that didn't help either.

Now I can only see VAIO logo and after that it goes blank. I tried to use the recovery disk, the CD spins but there is no display on screen.

As I can see the Vaio logo that means monitor is fine. Is it the hatd disk which has died?

Is there any other way I can boot the system?

Any help is appreciated!

It's a good thing your system can still post. Enter bios and confirm if hdd and optical drives are still recognized well then disable that logo(quick boot or similar). We need system model #.
