sometimes i smash it

Comment:

sometimes when i power-up i get 3or4 beeps followed by some disk activity, followed by
3or4 beeps follwed by some disk activity,etc.

then it works

(sometimes smashing the tower fixes it)

Maybe the memory sticks or the video card are making false contact. Check if both are properly placed and try again.

Usually in the back of your motherboard manual there is a trouble shooting section that tells you what the beep codes mean.


You might try starting there..

I think 3 beeps is common on alot of computers now.
