I dont even know if this is the correct place to ask but I am desperate! I downloaded Kazaa desktop and was told to share some of my files which I did. I didnt know not to click to share my documents and I did and when I saw all my personal files in my kazaa folder I deleted them from it only to discover all my files and documents are deleted from my computer!! Is there any way to retrieve??? I will die without these!

Have a look in your recycle bin and see if they are there. If they are, select them all and restore them. Once restored, move them out of the Kazaa folder back to where you want them.

Yeah, and start running full system, up-to-date virus, spyware and adware scans and back up your files now.

You won't believe what happens next.

Recycle bin is empty Kazaa shared folder is empty.. Looks like they are gone for good? I used to have this thing you could go back and retrieve your files from days or even weeks before but that got taken off when the system was rebuilt. I think Im screwed :(

The data that you think you lost is still imbedded on your hard drive, it will only be lost if you write over it. I believe Symantec has data retrieval software. I never needed it, but i've heard of it. Anyone more informed?

Norton System Utilities has an UnErease utility that i have heard will work ok. But if you dont need to use your system until you do that because if you system writes data to the area of your hard drive where you lost data was, it will be unrecoverable. Good luck
