Some keys dont work on Dell laptop keyboard

Specs: Windows XP

Hello Expert
I have a problem with the keyboard on my Dell laptop.

The following keys do not work:

2,é,z,s,x and Alt key

note: these keys are diagonally in a row,

I have installed an external USB keyboard and it's work fine

I’m not sure if that means it is is problem with the keyboard itself , or the controller.

Any idea ?

If the other keyboard works fine then it is probably the keyboard. Get it checked out.

Use another external USB Keyboard to see if it works fine and if it does it is probably the LAPTOP keyboard. It is not a big problem as laptop keyboards can be replaced very easily. You just need to take out 3 - 4 screws and thats it.
