hi, was wondering if some of you could help me out. I want to buy a 19"CRT monitor, wghat thinks should i look out for, oi.e what res do people tend to use with 19" CRT's? is it 1600 x 1200? Also what is the minimum refresh rate that i should look out for? Is it best to try and stick above 75hz? I'm looking for a flat screen CRT, am i right in thinking sa lot of companies on cheaper models say flat when they are nto actually perfectly flat? and samsung dynoflat monitors perfectly flat? i was originally thinking a budget of around £150 but i guess i could stretch that to £200 if need be. Thanks.

I don't know about the samsung monitors but the "standard" resolution for a 19" is 1280x1024. So it depends a lot on your personal taste and how good your eyes really are. For example I run that resolution on my 17". Most think it's to small but I like it so!
Stay above 75Hz at every time and 85Hz or higher will be best. If you want a resolution of 1600x1200 the monitor should have above 100KHz which allows a high enough refresh rate at that high resolution.
As you tend to have the monitor much longer than the computer (my now is linked to the third computer!) don't spare at the wrong end and better make sure you get a good one.Sorry but I can't suggest a special one but my cousin has a nice 19" Iiyama with 110kHz I think. But that's also a few years old.
The best is you look a bit around on the net as there should be a couple of tests!

im looking at Iiyama and ViewSonic at the mo, just can't decide which one! thanks for feedback, Nick.
