Hi, I go to Clover park technical college in lakewood washington, I am in the A+ Hardware/os's program. Our class last quarter recieved a cd-rom server by donation from another student, it is a SMS Netower, Made by SMS data groups inc. It's a 7 bay cd server that connects via Cat5 or Coax, I've got it all put together, and Hooked it up to multiple computers and none will recognize it, I've searched and searched for drivers for it, have not found any. I have called the company and they said to use the ARP command through the command prompt in windows, Arp -s IP MAC Adress to assign the Mac adress an IP, which I did, then I pinged the assigned IP adress and got no response, I also tried to connect to the IP adress or Mac Adress through Telnet, Which did not work. The Model is 1070DPTOWER7S, It's a 1997 Model. The data cable is Wide SCSI. If anyone can possibly give me some advice or if someone has one of these that can help please do. Thanks.
