When converting from FAT32 to NTFS the cluster size may have ended up as a non standard size. This may be causing out of range results in one or more tests.

Download and run a drive fitness test from the manufacturer of your particular harddrive. If you don't know what brand harddrive then download SIW.exe to try and find that info. SMART can yield false reports. I would rely on the drive fitness test. Converting from FAT32 to NTFS is not as good as installing to NTFS to start.

In the meantime keep your backups up to date.

I can't say for sure if that is even the reason for the alerts. Is the computer performing as expected? If so, you can turn off SMART in the BIOS. You should always maintain up to date backups.

What I was stating is that the conversion doesn't end up with the same results as formatting with NTFS from the start. That would be best to do if you wish to do anything at all.

What capacity is the harddrive/ partition you converted?

Personally I don't trust SMART. I think turning off SMART and having a regular backup routine is a good idea. Ghost and Acronis are very valuable tools and certainly worth their cost.

Something to keep in mind;

Some SMART indicated failures are not "Problems", just an indication that the HDD has exceeded a, somewhat arbitrary, standard. ie.. Power Cycle count, Stop/ Start Count, etc.

If you do not have access to the actual "Failed Parameter", follow the advice to back up your system often, so as to be prepared for an eventual failure.

Check the link below for Freeware that may help clear up the issue.

in repsonce to would turning it back help.
probably not.
smart has a chip on the hard drive that stores that info and when the system got a error thats been written to the chip.
if you was to go back to fat32 the chip will still have that error in it.
you would have to figuire out a way of reseting the chip back to factory settings.

all text needs typos. There there for the reader to find,to distract them from the total lack of content.
google it! wasnt the answer to the question i asked so dont be dense and give me that repl
