SMART failure predicted - Maxtor HD

About a year ago I bought a Maxtor 5T030H3 30 Gig. Harddrive! Recently (about 3 months ago) I started getting an error from S.M.A.R.T. check at the startup that says "Smart Failure Predicted on Primary Master, Press F2 to continue or F1 to run setup". I physically checked for proper cable connection on the drive and scanned for errors, etc. I don't really feel like this is a harddrive issue! I also went into the bios and disabled the S.M.A.R.T. Drive check. Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks!!

The SMART messages is saying that there
is probable chance that the drive is going
to fail. I would make sure that my backups
are current and prepare to get a new drive.
Depending upon the implementation when the
amount of errors gets to big the SMART
function may lock you out of the drive.
