Comment: I would really like to use some of the small form factor pc's out, like the shuttle xpc's. I am worried about upgrading and such though, is there plans for a standard and future for motherboards that will fits these small form cases? I don't want to invest in one if I will have to toss to just upgrade. thanks guys

Reply: (edit)Most MOBO builders have small form factor items. My biggest objection to the 'branded' models is that they use Laptop CD-ROM or DV-ROM drives and don't have Floppy Drives. So you have technical problems and costs for replacements. THe XPC has a very slow CPU by today's standards and you'll be on the back foot to start with and not have an upgrade path because time and technology has passed you by. As for a MOBO, no issues for getting a newer one in time. If space is a big problem, buy a mini-tower case, then at least you can replace a CD with a DVD or Burner when you want and get a standard desktop unit that will fit.
