Maybe something is wrong with your Video Card. I saw your profile and it says you have a 9400GT. I have just switched from the 9400GT to GT240. The 9400GT is a very good video card when it comes to HD movies. I have played 1080p movies on that card and it did flawlessly. Try to remove your graphic card and check the onboard graphics to see if you have a problem like that. Onboard graphics are good enough for basic video. If the problem goes away it is your graphic card.
