I recently replace my Deskjet 672c with an HP 5550. At first the new printer wouldn't work, so I had to enable 2-way communication (at least that's what I seem to remember). The new printer worked, but then my HP IIP laster printer really slowed down. Previouly, the laser printer would start as soon as I hit the print button. Now it sort of sits for a while and then the second light comes on (FORM FEED/continue) and after a while, it finally prints. What could have slowed it down so drastically? I have a data switch to select which printer I want to print. Nothing in my system has changed except the new printer and bi-directinal communication (which I think I had when I only had the laser printer). Can anyone help?
