Hi All, Just wandering if anyone knows where i can get some slim framed crt monitors as some of them have very thick edges, im looking to use some for a multi monitor setup and dont want massive spaces betqween the actual displays?
AMD Athlon 3000+ 64bit OC-3400
Asus A8N-SLI MB
1GB DDR 32002X 512MB
2X SLI Asus 6600GT Cards
200GB SATA Hard Drive

I take it you're planning on having them sitting side-by-side?
The plastic front of the monitor that surrounds it may seem wide but the CRT itself does not end where the front cover starts. It can overlap the CRT by over an inch. There's usually less than 1/2 inch between the CRT and the outer monitor cover.
If you need more space just get a smaller monitor--15" instead of 17", etc.

Is there some reason why you absolutely need CRT? Multi-monitors is useful for image editing and CAD programs and other things like that. LCDs should do a fine job of that. They also make dual LCD monitors that are "fused" together so you get 1 continuous even screen. They are expensive though, around $800-$1200 for a good one. CRTs are huge and they have a one-up on LCDs because they support higher resolutions without raising the price too much and the refresh rates which is really only an advantage in gaming but not by much because I use LCD for my games. They don't cost as much either. I've never actually seen a slim-frame CRT but it might be possible, just search around.
Build-in-Progress:
NZXT Nemesis Elite
Athlon 64 3200
Abit An8
OCZ EL PE Rev2 DDR400
X800PRO

The only reason im using CRT's or want to is because thre much cheaper, and for the high quality of games and movies id have to pay loads out for LCD's or TFT's. Even then the quality still isnt as good, CRT's are myu choice also because i have plenty of room for them, so costs seem to outweigh each other. Just wandered if i could get any thin framed ones, if not ill maybe have to make do with some fat frames and a larger gap in the CRT's, because i cant afford the high price for TFT's, unless someone knows a cheap site for maybe B grade or -A grade ones. Cheers for the help though.

gamerman4, you cant be much of a gamer if you play on a LCD monitor!
CRT is better for brightness/contrast/response time/image quality. The only advantages an lcd offers is they look cool and take up less space.
Also if you dont play games in the lcds native resolution it distorts the image.
Hopefully these new slim crts that are coming out will be the answers to my prayers. They offer all the advantages of CRT while being the same depth as LCD
