Help please
I've given up trying to sort out my perfection scanner and its lack of images.
So I narrowed the choice for a new slide scanner down to the HP G3010 or the 3110.
Please could some one tell me if there is any subtle difference as I'm seeing both as about the same.
Looking through the scanner specs I'm intrigued by the reference to hardware and Optical resolution differences (4800 and then 9600 dpi). Are these references to the CCD resolution, like megapixels in a digital camera... or is something totally different like the ability of the software to establish 9600 binary levels and transmit them to the PC image capture program?
Could any good guru out there to explain it to me please?

I'm not sure but I think it is an extrapolated resolution. Kind of like some ink jet printers used to use for their specs. Or like digital camera zoom function. IE: 3X optical & 10X digital.
Why not contact the tech support for the scanner and get the answers from the source.
