Hello, I have recently put in a slave Hard Drive it is only 3.2 Gig and I put it in to retrive data. After I installled the drive I noticed an increse of speed booting up, in my games and opening programs. Is this because the system uses the Salve for Virt Mem or something¿ I am curious about this.

Windows 98 won't automatically move your swap file (virtual memory) to the 2nd hard drive, but if you did, then sure it will increase performance. Other than that, I don't know why it would have speeded things up. Maybe someone else has an idea.

Did you install the 2nd hdd as a slave on the same ide (primary) interface cable.
Or was it installed as a master (or slave) on the other ide (secondary)cable - if so, it would explain the speed increase as you are using a different port.
