OS: XP PRO
CPU/Ram: 1400MHZ/ 512MB RAM

right.....my girlfriend has a new machine, and i want 2 install her hdd from her old PC in her new 1 as a slave to her new hard drive. iv set the jumpers correctly, connected the ide cables etc up and it dont seem to come up in my computer. help anyone?

ok you set the jumper on the slave.
this is what you have inside her PC.
1 primary channel
1 secondary channel

primary has a grey ribbon cable with something on it.

seconday may or may not have things on it.

tell us what is on what, and we will tell you how to throw it in.
also, your bios may have to be set to auto detect another HD.

Do not connect 2 HDDs to the same cable/channel...the 2nd HDD should be on the 2ndary channel as slave
