I'm currently studying PC Engineering and had the task of researching the difference between Single Sided and Double Sided RAM. I stumbled upon this post - http://www.computing.net/answers/ha... - where I think I grasped basic concepts of both. When I scrolled down I found that the comments disagreed with the OP - so now i'm kind of confused as to whether the information I gathered was correct or not? Is the following concept accurate:
Single Sided RAM can contain chips on only one side of the RAM stick, which is faster than trying to access chips on both sides of the RAM stick?
If this is wrong can someone link me to a post or just explain it to me please? Some of the information in the comments on that post were a bit confusing (such as Ranking?) so a break down would be SO helpful.
