single core versus dual core questions?

Specs: Windows 7
We just bought, for a christmas gift, for my 14 year old son...he likes to play Runescape online and for making his own youtube videos...

Acer - Aspire Laptop with AMD Athlon™ Single-Core Processor

It was on sale for $350 and he is just 14 and subject to a little brother...

Will this work for him for what he will be using it for? Do we need to return it? Please any insite into this would be helpful.

I think it would be ok for a kid and for what you are going to use it for.

Make sure you have restore disks or know how to recover to OEM state.

If it has windows 7 on it be sure to get maybe MS security essentials or other firewall and AV software before you connect online.

I'd put a hosts file on it too.

How much memory & which graphics are used? While a dual core CPU would have been better than a single core, the memory amount has a huge impact on performance & the graphics type has a huge impact on gaming.

Which model did you get?
