What is the differene between Single Channel Mamory and Dual Channel Memory.I it something related to SIMM and DIMM.

I have 2 512 MB RAm By Zion Running at 400Mhz.The bios shows it as Single Channel Memory. Is it possible to make it as Dual channel or make it work faster.

I need to make it faster because ,I Do graphics and Animation.Even when i do rendering the CPU Usage doen not reach 100% ,some CPU resoource is not used,I want to take max Advantage of the CPU.

How can i do that

There is no technical difference. Dual channel is a function of the motherboard and CPU. Any suitable pair of ram sticks will function if the board/cpu support dual channel. Ram manufacturers market Dual Channel kits and all they are is a pair of matched sticks.

Does your motherboard support dual channel? Is your CPU rated HT? (Hyperthreading) If it isn't then you cannot run dual channel.

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Can you give us the make and model of your mother board.

From what I can see you have a p4 with 800fsb other wise your ram would not be at 400mhz. If your mother board is a new one you may have the ram / slot configuration wrong.

I would also suggest upgrading to XP Pro and seting up a raid 0 array. This is a optimal setup for doing heavy graphics and rendering work.

I suspect your bottle neck is not the cpu, but more ram, graphics card, os , and hard drive related.

A full list fo your hardware would help us out.
