Hello, if you have multiple partitions on your hard drive and it fails, is it possible that the other partitions are still able to be read if I simply plug in the drive into the secondary slot? If you do not understand, I like to assign different partitions such as games, backups, etc. so if my hard drive fails and I need to replace it, can I get another HD, and hook up the faulty Hd as another drive and in My Computer it will show the working partitions? Or if the drive dies is everything lost?

If the drive is "physically dead" I doubt you would be able to retrieve anything. If it isn't spinning you're not going to access the data. You may want to check with a technician that has the equipment for such a job but I am sure a simple recovery "software" program won't help on it's own.
