Heat will make it crash. What do you want to know.

thanks for the reply. my laptop (lenovo 3000 N100) was bought 4 yrs ago. after one and half years, the battery failed. from then onwards i am using the power supply always. and for some time (a year, i would say) computer crashes suddenly and some time, it would restart automatically (not always). it occurs many times when i go online or when i use certain programmes like, defraggling, virus check, etc. And i have noticed it has shut down while it was idle too! the event viewer has 'red crosses' and the following description: Event Type: Error Event Source: .NET Runtime Optimization Service Event Category: None Event ID: 1101 Date: 9/28/2009 Time: 9:14:05 PM User: N/A Description: .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: C:\Program Files\PC Drivers HeadQuarters\Driver Detective\DriversHQ.DriverDetective.Client.exe . GOTO Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services 2. right click on Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Click Recovery Change First Faliure From Drop own :Select Restart The Service 3. Do Same With Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator I did that (the setting was to 'restart' after the first failure' for the first, and for the second, 'no action'.) and until now it has not crashed! but i do not know whether it has fixed the problem! i would like to hear your opinion.
