Shredder oil question

Why not, it wont do any harm but it probably wont do much good either as it is to thin.
I have always found that the best thing for lubricating any electrical equipment is a few dabs of Vaseline. It has the added benefit that is does not conduct electricity whereas some type of grease does.

The maker suggest a vegetable oil. I'd think that there would be some above the kitchen sink. Olive to corn would be fine.

Did you look at the operators manual in the link I posted in response 1? "The Maker" is Fellowes and they are the ones who recommend a vegetable oil.
