Helo pipz..

I just downloaded EVEREST HOME EDITION, and installed it on my PC...after browsing the content...i found out that my video card which is Geforce FX 5500 256mb AGP 8x/4x showing only AGP 4x..i thought my mobo supports 8x..also called A.G.I. in asrock terminology which means ASRock Graphics Interface..upgradable from 4x to 8x. Souldnt' my GFX card be 8x?..to be maximum?
There are no ways that i can adjust my AGP from 4x to 8x...coz i bet its auto detect from GFX card.
pls help..

tnx...

If you have your motherboard chipset installed, you should be able to set the speed to 8X, and you BIOS should have a setting for that allowance.

i do have my motherboard chipset installation, and have the latest drivers 4 it.

There's no option in my bios to set the speed to 8x..

Here's my mobo info site:

I just ran through your motherboard's manual and unfortunately your card is not on the official supported list of 8X cards posted (see below).

ALBATRON GF4-MX440 64M
AOPEN Aeolus FX5600S-DV128
AOPEN Aeolus FX5200-V128
ASUS AGP-V9180
ASUS AGP-V9280 VIEDO SUITE
ASUS AGP-V9520 MAGIC/T
ASUS V9900
ASUS V9900 ULTRA
ELSA-GLADIC 518

Inno3D GeForce FX5600
LEADTEK A280 LE

PALIT GF4 MX440 8X 64MB
PROLINK GeForceFX5900
PROLINK GF4-TI4200
SPARKLE GF4-MX440-8X

You can try a BIOS update, but it may or may not accomplish anything different for you.

Flashing the bios may not get the results you want. Besides the risk you run of winding up with an exspecive door prop if you muck it up. I would see about doing a trade up at where you bought the vid card.

And hi there sabertooth. Long time no see.

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...
