Should I keep my LCD monitor connected to UPS

Specs: Windows XP
I have LCD monitor Philips and a UPS. I wish to connect only my computer to the UPS and keep my monitor connected to another power outlet. But I was wondering - will my monitor last longer if it's connected to the UPS? Can my monitor burn out if there is a power outage and it's not connected to the UPS?

It's really up to you. On my end the LCD monitor is plugged in APC UPS so that in the event of electricity power failure I have a window of 45 minutes to save & close whatever I am running then safely shut down the computer system until power is restored.
