Going from your recently acquired $250.00 (E6550/8800GT) rig from below to the E8400/HD3870 is a big waste of money. The performance difference between the two is not worth another $600.00!

If you're trying to compare the two computers, then you should post all of the specs for the $250 computer. From what Sabertooth posted, it's probably not worth it if you're replacing the $250 computer. Or is this supposed to be a second computer ?

I think the OP is saying that he's going to buy this system as a second one. In that case, I still think it's a great one. It's faster than all of my current systems.

Are you buying it just because it's a bargain, or do you really need it?
