Reply: (edit)Is your friend's PC new ? If so, it looks like a good deal to me. You might want to change the RAM back to 800 MhZ, though.

Reply: (edit)Going from your recently acquired $250.00 (E6550/8800GT) rig from below to the E8400/HD3870 is a big waste of money. The performance difference between the two is not worth another $600.00! "Intel Core 2 DUO E6550 - 2.33GHZ, 1333MHZ FSB, and 4mb cacheOCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard Nvidia 8800GT 512MB " Have you seriously considered overclocking & fine tunning the E6550 based rig - you've got the goods? Reply: (edit)If you're trying to compare the two computers, then you should post all of the specs for the $250 computer. From what Sabertooth posted, it's probably not worth it if you're replacing the $250 computer. Or is this supposed to be a second computer ?

Reply: (edit)I think the OP is saying that he's going to buy this system as a second one. In that case, I still think it's a great one. It's faster than all of my current systems. Make sure Jesus is your Saviour! To avoid conflict, always Google before posting.

Reply: (edit)Well you probably should keep the first system then. Make sure Jesus is your Saviour! To avoid conflict, always Google before posting.
