i am building a new gaming PC. -Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor -ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard -two 2GB DDR 2 800 ram -600W PSU -i am gonna keep my 6800 for now, cuz i know geforce 9800 is coming very soon, the price of 8800GT will be dropped, so i am gonna wait for a little while. -this pc will run windows vista ultimate(i just got it from my dad's company).
now i have everything except a computer case. since my new pc is gonna be pretty powerful, i might need a good cooling case. i checked some cases with large fans, some have like two 200mm to 250 mm case fans. are big cooling fans better? what about the dust problem?
A case with a single 120mm exhaust fan in the rear is sufficient. Side panel fans should be avoided, front intake fans aren't an absolute necessity. Dust will always be a problem, regardless of fan size.
The only way to see if it's gonna be a temperature problem is to monitor the temperatures and troubleshooting to lower them with doing cooling upgrades and cable management. The more you spend on a case the better probably the aerodynamic design by default.
The advantage of larger diameter fans is that they can move an equivelent amount of air at a lower RPM. This equates to less noise. Are fans are not created equal.
Just go for a standard case, with inlet front fans and exit fans at rear. Also what PSU you getting, you seem to only state 600w? Also planning on overclocking? If so go for the GO core CPU! 02coled
