I am looking at buying a notebook. I have found a good deal on Acer 2355 NXC. I am getting Celeron M Processor (360, 1MB L2 Cache,1.4ghz),512 MB RAM,40GB HDD,CD RW DVD combo,35.8 cm TFT and 1 year's internatinal warranty for 31,000 Indian Rupees. For those of you who wouldnt know the price parity of Indian Rupees Vis-a-Vis USD, its a very good deal. i am a progarammer by profession, I wonder if Celeron M will do fine for me in running let's say eclipse 3.0, tomcat or may be weblogic instance and a DB instance like MySql/Oracle.Any advice will be really appreciated!

AFAIK, Celeron is not great for gaming.

Celeron is fine for a desktop, but in a laptop the small cache will almost severly limit multi tasking and you will see frequent "white outs" that would never happen in a desktop. Far better off with P 4 and the difference is slight.

Will an acer with an AMD inside be a good substitue for the centrino? For that I dont have to increase my budget drastically.
