shift key opens program

my shift key opens my mediaplayer.i have even removed the wmp but it still opens other programs.i cant capotalize or punctuate.i cant type my e-mail add.this is driving me crazy...please help.

Make sure that Sticky, Filter, and Toggle Keys are disabled.
This happened to me one time a few years back, or something similar. It took me awhile but i remember it having something to do with Sticky Keys so I'd say its worth a look.
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Accessibility Options
Look on the keyboard tab it should be the first one. Uncheck all boxes if they are checked. See if that fixes it.

Do you have a special keyboard driver that uses shortcut keys? If so, you can uninstall that driver and use the standard 101/102 key keyboard driver that is standard with windows. Check your device manager, if your keyboard driver is something other than "Standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard" you might want to change it to that.
