Can anyone give me any advice on SFF systems? I'm just looking for something to surf the net/use outlook, and at most play some music. The cheaper the better, but it would be nice if the case were aesthetically pleasing.
I wouldn't mind building my own, but I've been out of the computing world for a while, so I'm not too sure what would be reasonable prices.

That's what I would like to do, but it isn't my choice. It's for my parents, and they want as small as possible, while not a laptop.

If it is small that you want but reasonably powerful then look at HP E-Vectra. Small unit with onboard graphics, sound, network, usb. Limitation is no PCI slots for expansion, and only one ram slot that takes up to 256mb, so for internet requires external modem. We use these at work but I have one at home. It's a P3 733. You should be able to pick one up for about $70
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
Summary: With the exception of their SFF systems, HP's used standard ATX components in their machines since '97 or '98. Emachines use the same PSUs--Bestec units that are prone to failure. I've replaced plent...
Summary: "the problem is when i tried to insert it into my pci slot i found it too tall" You can't install an AGP card in a PCI slot. I had a look at the specs for the T300 & it does have an AGP slot, so maybe...
Summary: not a fan of SFF systems myself, but they sure are "cute"...lol! Make sure you're buying it for the right reason(s), not simply based on how stylish it is. They have limited upgradeability & the main ...
