OS: Windows Vista
CPU/Ram: 6 gigs DDR3 triple OCZ
Product: Evga / EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1
Comment:

Building new Computer for gaming. I am using Core i7 processor with EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard,3-way SLI, VDroop control, EVGA E-Leet Utility with a 1300 watt power supply and 6gig OCZ memory. I have at my disposal a total of 5 hard drives.
2 - Western Digital Raptor WD740ADFD 74GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA
2 - Western Digital VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB
1 - Western Digital Caviar GP WD10000LSRTL 1TB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache

I thought I would put the 2 - 150s in a Raid 0 format & use the 1 TB Caviar drive a storage drive for pictures and stuff and put my OS on one of the 74g drives. What should I do with the other 74g drive. Put it in a Raid with the other one or just leave it out? How do I accomplish all of this? Do I have to have a controller or will my board support it? Any hints or instructions or links on how to hook up all these drives for the fastest performace?Thank you

Raid can be enabled in the bios in the advanced options. Also you could probably put two os on that computer if not, then you can raid all 4 drives to 0, but you will loose 150 gigs doing so. The option is up to you. Once you enabled raid in the bios you need to save setting let it restart and then it will have a option like press Control I on the keyboard to setup a raid configuration. Make sure you have enough airflow for those harddrives or your drives will start dropping out.

I see you have 6GB RAM...will you be running Vista 64? Hopefully you understand the risks with RAID 0. You might wanna read up on it a bit 1st:
