Session3 Initialization Failed

March 31, 2010 at 18:28:39
Specs: Windows XP

I have read other comments on the same error I am receiving, but I have tried it all. My computer can't even get into safe mode. I just want to take out a folder for school that is in there and I will never have to deal with this laptop. Someone told me to insert the Operating System Disk into the computer but wouldn't this eraser all my documents (which I don't care with the exception of this folder). Please help.
I have also read that if you can't go on safe mode, my hardware failed. What does this mean? How much estimated would it cost me? Is it better to just get a new computer?
Thanks

The error code, Session3_Initialization_Failed, generally indicates a hardware problem, but it *could* be something else. We'd need the entire error message. The stop code *should* be STOP 0x0000006F but there's more to it than that. The clue to fixing the problem is in that error message.

Have you made any hardware changes?
Were you having any problems just prior to this happening?
Do you have a retail XP disc or a Gateway recovery disc?
