Don't worry, PSUs are designed to run 24/7.

Providing it is properly ventilated and is not being over-run then there wont be a problem.

I once had control of a server that ran continuously for nearly two years. It wasn't running Windows though it was Novell. It was a thunderstorm that finally brought it down.

You probably do - that's what is meant by well ventilated. A fan sucking air in at the front and one blowing air out at the back in addition to the CPU fan should be the minimum requirement.

Monitor the temperature and if the temperature remains steady at an acceptable level after an hour or two of running then its going to be fine.

38-45 degrees C is fine. Thats well within acceptable limits.

You cannot not make you computer turn of when it hibernates - thats the whole point of hibernation, it turns off. It dumps the contents of memory to the hard disk and turns itself off. When it wakes up it reloads the contents back into memory and carries on from where it left of with the same applications loaded. If you have hibernation enabled you will have a file in the system folder called hiberfile.sys. This file just happens to be the same size as your installed memory.

If you have a suitable network card and a motherboard that supports it, you can enable Wake on LAN (WOL) which will bring the computer out of hibernation when there is activity on the network interface card.

I you don't want it to turn off you will have to disable hibernation altogether and just allow it to go into standby. You also need to make sure that network activity will bring it out of standby.

Hibernation has a lot to do with ACPI. However, if she is downloading movies and things she is not hibernating, probably just standby.

Hibernating removes the power, the fans stop, the CPU stops, everything stops just as if you had pressed the power button. There is a small amount of power going to the motherboard, but just enough to bring it back into life. The only difference is that the contents of memory are dumped to the hard disk so it resumes where it left off.

Its probably just going into standby. If you press and hold the power button for four seconds, it should shut down completely.

There should be a setting in the BIOS to control the behaviour of the power button. You can also set the power button behaviour from control panel > Power Management.
