Can the other computers "see" the files?

Are they shared folders/files on the server?

Is Vista part of workgroup if that is how the server is setup or domain?

How are the files/folders shared? NTFS permissions used?

Review the Vista windows firewall. Under the exceptions tab network discovery and core networking should be checked.

I am assuming you can ping from vista to the server successfully.
