Specs: Windows 7 , Intel Pentium T4500 / 2.3 GHz

I have a external Seagate drive 500 Gig External drive that is no longer showing up as a drive on my computer.

I started to have difficulty when trying to move or copy files from the computer to the external drive and vice versa, would not copy or move files.

I have Windows 7 operating system. I got a error message on my computer "I/O device error 0X 8007045D.

I do not know what this is or what it means.

Now, the external drive is not even recognized by the computer. The green light on the drive just

flashes and it does not show up as a drive on the computer.

Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it.

Your assistance and expertise is really needed and appreciated.

The drive may be faulty or may even have failed altogether. To confirm if it has failed you need to test it with Seagate SeaTools for Windows from here:

If the test says the drive has failed, very often with external drives, it's not the actual drive that's faulty but it's often the USB interface circuit-board inside the plastic drive enclosure that's faulty.

When that happens, you can try and remove the hard drive from the plastic enclosure, remove the circuit-board, then buy a third-party hard drive enclosure and put the drive into that.
