I have two computers that when I power them on they wont post. It seems like the bios has been erased. is this possible? perhaps a virus? if so, how can I restore the bios?

enable flash rom support on your motherboard jumper setting. you have to see your motherboard manua for that. that's impossible for virus to get into your bios and destroy everything if you have protection.

one computer is a desktop, and it does have jumpers for cmos clear - - how should i go about clearing it?? while the computer is pluged in, if i take the battery out it will boot. if I restart it wont power up again. unless I repeat the process. Kinda weird -- -
the other is a laptop with no jumpers. the fan comes on and the drives power up - but if I put a bootable disk in the floppy it doesnt try to read it. ??? perhaps a bad processor???
