Solved Seeking 2nd thought why Gateway All-In-One PC won't power up

Specs: Windows 7
I don't know if the Gateway all-in-one has an internal battery like a lap top, but it has a power cord like a laptop. I checked the DC volts/amps and used my laptop power supply because it was showing the same ratings. No help, still nothing.

Since the power button is so sensitive on these, I am thinking it could be that, but no amount of "playing with it" created anything different. I'm hoping it has an internal battery like a lap top, and maybe after all these years being plugged in constantly maybe it died.

I have it a computer repair shop now being diagnosed. If they find the problem I'll post it.

I don't know what the attraction is with these a-i-o systems. You'd have been better off buying a laptop. An a-i-o is not considered a portable device therefore it has has no battery. And it's not large enough to contain an internal power supply, therefore it has an external one. You didn't provide a model number but it appears that motherboard failures are fairly common with these units. Have a look at the following, it's worth a shot:

Thank you for the information.

Believe it or not, it is my wife's computer and she liked it for the esthetics and absence of wires. But she has loved it, so she wants to try to resurrect it if possible.

The computer shop we took it to was suspecting a mother board problem too. I'll post whatever we find out.

Thanks again
