Specs: Vista
I recently got a new computer (Dell Studio 1737) which is equipped with an HDMI output was was using it to watch movies on my tv through the extended monitor setup in Vista. No problem with the sound (as some have reported) but, somewher in the boot process, something is loaded that makes the screen on the secondary monitor (not the laptop's display; it remains just fine) change to virtually totally white, with very little if any contrast. Using Vista as the operating system. As I said, it has a great display mirroring that shown on the laptop's screen until that point in the boot proceess, when something loads to corrupt the HDMI output. It never comes back, and the same thing happens every time I try to re-boot.
