Hi all

I have a Compaq Presario SR5702UK with 1 SATA HD and 1 SATA CD drive installed. My current HD is nearly full but of music and video so would like to add a second internal HD to my system to move all this onto but i do not have any spare SATA power cables to go to the drive but i DO have 4 slots on my MB for SATA and a cable to connect to the HD so its just the power one, does anyone have any idea on a way round this? think its a bit of a strange design to give you the 4 SATA slots on MB but no extra power cables for another drive.

Kind regards

You could use a Sata power cable splitter like this or you could get an external USB drive for storage.

Either do as Grasshopper has suggested with a little splitter that will turn one into two power plugs or replace the power supply with one that has sufficient power cables.
